This role is pivotal in shaping the emotional landscape of our films, crafting original musical scores that enhance storytelling and resonate deeply with audiences. You will be responsible for composing, arranging, and producing music for feature films, short films, and potentially promotional content. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of music theory, orchestral arrangement, contemporary scoring techniques, and proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and virtual instruments. This hybrid role offers flexibility while requiring in-person collaboration for key creative sessions and scoring sessions.
Responsibilities: Compose original musical scores for various film projects, aligning with directorial vision and script requirements. Collaborate closely with directors and producers to understand the desired emotional tone and narrative impact of the music. Arrange and orchestrate music for diverse ensembles, from solo instruments to full orchestras. Produce high-quality music recordings using professional DAWs and high-fidelity virtual instruments. Develop leitmotifs and thematic material that ties different parts of a film together. Oversee music recording sessions, including working with musicians and sound engineers. Manage music budget and schedule effectively. Adapt scores based on feedback and revisions throughout the post-production process. Ensure timely delivery of all musical assets. Stay updated on film scoring trends and technologies. Qualifications: Proven experience as a film score composer with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse musical styles. Expertise in music theory, harmony, counterpoint, and orchestration. Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Ableton Live). Extensive knowledge of virtual instrument libraries and sample manipulation. Ability to compose music across various genres and moods. Excellent understanding of film post-production workflows. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
