Our client, a prestigious arts and entertainment company in **Durham, North Carolina, US**, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Music Producer to lead artistic direction and project execution for a diverse range of musical endeavors. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of music production, from conceptualization and artist development to final mixing and mastering. This role demands a deep understanding of music genres, a strong network within the music industry, and exceptional leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
Lead the production process for various music projects, ensuring artistic vision and quality are maintained throughout. Collaborate with artists, songwriters, and engineers to develop and refine musical concepts. Oversee recording sessions, providing creative direction and technical guidance. Manage budgets and timelines for music production projects. Select appropriate studio equipment, software, and personnel for each project. Develop and nurture talent, providing mentorship and career guidance to artists. Ensure the final product meets the highest standards of audio quality, including mixing and mastering. Stay current with music industry trends, emerging genres, and innovative production techniques. Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, labels, publishers, and other industry professionals. Contribute to the company’s overall artistic strategy and repertoire development. Conduct A&R functions, identifying and scouting new talent. Manage contractual agreements related to music production and artist collaborations. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Production, Sound Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered. Minimum of 7 years of experience in music production, with a significant portfolio of commercially successful projects. Proven expertise across multiple music genres. In-depth knowledge of music theory, composition, arrangement, and instrumentation. Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Cubase. Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, mixing, and mastering techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams effectively. A strong network within the music industry is highly desirable. Passion for music discovery and artist development.
