Live sound engineer wanted for regional sound company. Work is mostly around the tri-state area, primarily on weekends, mainly Saturdays. Some A-2 jobs coming up soon to get started.
Most jobs do not require additional crew but are one-man, one-band, one-van gigs, such as weddings, corporate events and occasional HOW jobs.
Candidates are expected to pick up a small to mid-sized PA sound system, deliver and set it up, engineer the event and return the system. You should be able to lift equipment, mix well, troubleshoot and possess a comprehensive knowledge for hookup and placement of microphones, speakers, etc.
Some other applications we cover include music backline, staging and lighting, the majority of the work involves sound though.
Individuals should:
• Possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable smartphone; we require PROMPT replies via email regarding availability or changes to itineraries
• Reside within half an hour from Port Jervis area; systems must be picked up; long commutes don’t work out well. We also offer some jobs with extended travel and compensation.
• Have experience with LIVE sound engineering and setup; DJ, studio recording and film experience are not relevant! Please do not mention unrelated experience, thank you.
• Be able to routinely lift moderate to heavy units (40 to 90 lbs.)
Also is helpful if you already have familiarity with the Midas M32/Behringer X32 mixing protocols. We use that the majority of the time.
