I’m looking for a music producer/arranger to turn several of my original tracks into a polished, continuous ~2-minute backing track for a live performance in front of 700+ people.
I own all rights to the source material and can provide stems and/or project files.
The piece should move through three distinct sections/genres:
• Hip-hop
• Drum & bass
• A third genre of your choosing
I’m intentionally leaving a lot of room for creativity. I want this to feel like a short, cohesive performance piece rather than three tracks simply placed next to each other.
The main requirement is simple: it must be dope.
Live-drumming constraint
I’ll be performing the drums live over the finished track, so the final backing track should be essentially drumless – bass, chords, pads, melodies, textures, FX, etc.
While producing, however, please feel free to compose using drums as a rhythmic reference. My live setup consists of three kits, each limited to:
• Kick
• Closed hi-hat
• Snare
Please design your rhythmic ideas around those sounds so I can reproduce the intended grooves live.
The final stereo backing track should have those drum/percussion elements removed or muted.
I’d also like the arrangement to leave occasional space for fills and live improvisation rather than being constantly dense.
Structure
Target length: approximately 2:00
I’m envisioning roughly three sections of 30–40 seconds each, with some flexibility depending on what sounds best.
For transitions:
• Section 1 → 2 should remain on the same musical grid, ideally allowing a half-time → double-time transition.
• Section 2 → 3 can use a more obvious transition such as a clean break, riser, impact, or similar device.
• Major transitions should generally land on 4 or 8-bar phrase boundaries.
Deliverables
Please provide:
• One continuous stereo WAV:
• 24-bit
• 44.1 kHz
• Approximately 2:00
• Drumless final performance mix
• The kick, closed hi-hat, and snare used for each section:
• 3 kits total
• 9 one-shot samples total
• Full DAW project/session:
• FL Studio preferred but other DAWs are fine—please tell me what you use
• One revision
Any original samples or musical material you contribute must be material you own or otherwise have the right to transfer as part of this project.
Rights
This is a work-for-hire / full-rights assignment project. Upon final payment, I will own the commissioned arrangement, newly created musical material, custom samples, and other project deliverables.
Please do not use third-party material that cannot legally be transferred.
Timeline
Final delivery: Monday, September 28
This is a fixed-price project with one revision included.
When applying
Please send:
1. A link to one strong example of your production, editing, or arrangement work.
2. The DAW you primarily work in.
3. A brief note on how you’d approach the three-section progression.
I care much more about musical taste and creativity than a long proposal.
Looking forward to hearing what you come up with.
