As a TV Traffic Producer / Reporter, you’ll deliver fast, accurate, and engaging traffic updates that help viewers navigate their day. This role blends live reporting, production savvy, and storytelling to keep audiences informed and connected. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and knows how to turn data into compelling, real-time coverage.What You’ll Do:Undertake key administrative responsibilities as well as assist in planning and producing live and/or pre-recorded radio shows which may include news, music, talk, sports, traffic, and feature productionsGenerate original ideas, identifie suitable ideas from others, and carry out thorough researchResearch information, obtain materials and assist with contacting and scheduling guestsGive direction to presenters, content providers, assistants and other crew membersManage budgets and ensure the efficient use of resourcesObtain permissions or licenses for recording or broadcasting on location, and for the use of music, sound effects and audio archive materialMonitor listener emails, inquiries and responses related to showsWork in collaboration with presenters, performers or other program contributors, in order to perform quality assurance to meet established production standards, rules and regulationsUse various broadcasting technologies such as soundboards and editing/production softwareSchedule and monitor the radio stream during live recordingsAssist with time-keeping, saving show recordings, archiving show files and post-production editing as directedMay work the board for pre-recorded or live showsWhat You’ll Need:Experience as a Radio ProducerExcellent writing and storytelling skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platformsAbility to generate original ideas, and to think creatively about how to communicate them to different audiences; has comprehensive knowledge of news and weatherFlexibility to work morning and evening or weekend different hours as the work schedule changes frequently and with short noticeKnowledge of how to use a variety of recording equipment and how to operate different radio studiosAbility to build rapport and draw information from peopleCan coach and develop othersConfidence and tenacity to pursue information, overcome obstacles and pitch ideas to senior colleaguesStress tolerance: ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and to react quickly to changesAbility to plan and organize, set priorities, multi-task and meet tight deadlinesFull knowledge of the law, rules and industry regulations around radio production, know when it’s necessary, and how to acquire relevant clearances and licensesProficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platformsFour-year college degree, preferably in Radio or Media Production or the equivalent work experienceWriting sample is requiredSense of urgencyWhat You’ll Bring:Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in returnFull proficiency and understanding of job functionOpen communication with colleagues and direct reports that encourages collaboration and team consensusStrong problem solving skillsEfficiency with independent work under minimal guidanceCommitment to process improvement for overall team effectivenessProfessional communication that stresses diplomacy, empathy and patienceLocation:Detroit, MI: 2529 Orleans St., Suite 100, 48207Position Type:RegularTime Type:Full timePay Type:HourlyBenefits:iHeartMedia’s benefits offering is flexible and offers a variety of choices to meet the diverse needs of our changing workforce, including the following:Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage#J-18808-Ljbffr
