Position Overview

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Audio / Acoustics Engineer to support vehicle-level audio validation and measurement activities. This role will focus on acoustic testing, telephony performance evaluation, and audio system analysis across both laboratory and vehicle environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acoustic measurement methodologies, hands-on experience with industry-standard audio analysis tools, and the ability to develop or modify automated test scripts to support validation efforts. This position is primarily focused on measurement, testing, and validation rather than audio tuning or algorithm development. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate audio performance, troubleshoot issues, and support the delivery of high-quality vehicle audio experiences.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory and vehicle-level acoustic measurements and analysis.

Validate audio system performance, including telephony and voice quality functionality. Utilize HEAD Acoustics and other audio analysis tools to perform testing and data collection. Analyze test results and provide recommendations for issue identification and resolution. Develop, modify, and maintain Python-based automation and test scripts.

Support validation activities for microphones, speakers, and related audio hardware. Collaborate with DSP, software, systems, and validation teams to support overall program objectives.

Document test procedures, results, and findings.

Assist engineering teams with audio quality investigations and performance assessments.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or acoustics engineering.

Strong experience performing acoustic measurements and audio validation activities.

Hands-on experience with HEAD Acoustics tools.

Experience with vehicle-level and laboratory audio testing.

Knowledge of telephony systems and voice quality evaluation.

Experience testing and validating microphones and speakers.

Proficiency with Python for developing or modifying test automation scripts.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ACQUA Audio Quality Analyzer.

Familiarity with Listen, LMS, MLSSA, or similar acoustics measurement platforms.

Exposure to Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts.

Automotive audio system development or validation experience.

Experience with infotainment
