About Jinny’s Music Studio
Jinny’s Music Studio is a growing, women- and Asian-owned music studio in San Jose with professional recording facilities, including a Steinway Model B, Neve and Universal Audio preamps, Neumann, AKG, and Telefunken microphones, a vocal and podcast booth, and multi-camera video options. We’re building a studio where creators can focus on the work while we help with bookings and logistics.
About the Role
We’re looking for independent music producers to work out of our San Jose studio on hip-hop, R&B, podcast, and voice-over projects. This is an independent contractor (1099) role. You set your own rates, and you can work with your own clients as well as sessions booked through the studio.
What You’ll Do
• Produce and engineer sessions for hip-hop, R&B, podcast, and voice-over clients
• Build beats and arrangements, then mix and master to professional standards
• Run sessions in our acoustically designed rooms and vocal booth
• Guide artists and creators so sessions stay productive and comfortable
• Deliver finished work on schedule
What We’re Looking For
• Proven production experience in hip-hop and/or R&B; podcast and voice-over experience is a plus
• Strong command of a professional DAW (Pro Tools preferred) and a solid mixing and mastering workflow
• A portfolio of finished work you can share
• Professional, people-first communication with artists and clients
• Bonus: video editing (Final Cut Pro, OBS)
What We Offer
• Set your own rates: you decide what to charge
• Independent contractor (1099) with flexible scheduling
• Professional recording space and premium equipment
• Help with bookings and scheduling
• A creative community of musicians, teachers, and artists
• Room to grow with the studio over time
