Three by James is an up and coming touring project for K-5. It is a Interactive theatrical song cycle based on the poems of James Whitcomb Riley and composed by Celeste Leitch Gates for Mezzo Soprano and Clarinet. Both the Vocal and the clarinet are actively telling the story. The calrinet is not just playing accompaniment patterns but actually has his own role in telling the story. Deadline to apply in Novemember 24th with audtions to be held in January of 2027. Music will and instructions will be sent as soon as your inquiry and email address is recieved.
• Express musical works across various styles.
• Advanced proficiency on Clarinet, including solid technique, tone control, and rhythmic ability
• Jazz technique in glissando, pitch bends, strong accents
• Experience performing solo and in small ensembles, with proven collaboration and ensemble-playing skills.
• Ability to follow musical direction, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly in work environment.
• Formal music education, private study, or equivalent professional experience.
