Requirements
• Experience: Proven experience working as an Audio Engineer within a theatrical or live performance environment.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of sound systems setup, operation, and maintenance in a theatre setting.
• Technical Skills: Experience with digital sound boards and automated board programming is required.
• Sound Engineering: Expertise in signal processing, EQ, and gain staging techniques to optimize audio clarity and quality during live events and recordings.
• Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues swiftly to minimize downtime during performances.
• Attitude: Positive attitude in time-sensitive, high-stress environments is a big positive.
Duties
• Set up, calibrate, and operate audio systems, including microphones, speakers, mixers, and signal processors, to support theatrical performances and events.
• Collaborate with directors, stage managers, and production teams to design optimal soundscapes tailored to each production’s needs.
• Monitor live audio feeds during performances, making real-time adjustments to ensure consistent sound quality and clarity.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of audio equipment to prevent disruptions during shows.
• Work with industry-standard interfaces such as Final Cut Pro, QLab, etc.
• EQ and program digital cues in our state-of-the-art Digico SD9 sound board.
