Our client, a renowned studio at the forefront of interactive entertainment, is seeking an exceptional Lead Sound Designer to spearhead audio development for upcoming AAA titles. This exciting opportunity is based in our creative hub in Phoenix, Arizona, US . The Lead Sound Designer will be responsible for defining and executing the audio vision for our games, ensuring a deeply immersive and compelling auditory experience for players. You will lead a talented team of sound designers, audio programmers, and composers, providing creative direction, technical guidance, and mentorship. Responsibilities include creating high-fidelity sound effects, designing dynamic audio systems, implementing audio assets within game engines, and overseeing the mixing and mastering process. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of game audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD), as well as proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase. You will collaborate closely with game designers, narrative writers, and art directors to ensure audio seamlessly integrates with gameplay and enhances the overall player experience. This role requires a keen ear for detail, exceptional creativity, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of interactive audio. You will be instrumental in developing innovative audio features and technologies that set our games apart. The successful applicant will also be responsible for managing audio budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships. A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of impactful game sound design work, particularly in action or adventure genres, is essential. Extensive experience in leading audio teams and shipping multiple successful game titles is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is expected. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are crucial for working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
