Our client, a visionary studio at the forefront of interactive entertainment, is seeking a talented Lead Sound Designer to spearhead the audio experience for their upcoming projects. This fully remote role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the sonic landscape of cutting-edge games and immersive experiences. You will be responsible for defining the audio vision, leading a team of sound designers, and implementing high-quality sound effects, music integration, and voiceover direction. Your role will involve close collaboration with game designers, programmers, and artists to ensure the audio perfectly complements the gameplay and narrative. Responsibilities include: Conceptualizing and defining the overall sound direction and audio aesthetic for projects; Leading, mentoring, and motivating a remote team of sound designers; Creating and implementing high-impact sound effects , ambiences, and Foley for gameplay and cinematics; Collaborating with audio programmers to implement dynamic audio systems using middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD); Directing voice actors and overseeing dialogue recording and editing; Integrating music and ensuring seamless transitions; Performing audio mixing and mastering to ensure optimal quality across various platforms; Conducting quality assurance (QA) for all audio assets and implementations; Staying abreast of new audio technologies and trends in interactive media. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in sound design for video games or interactive media, including at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven experience with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Reaper), audio middleware, and version control systems is essential. A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional sound design skills and creative vision is required. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are paramount for managing a remote team and collaborating effectively with cross-functional departments.
