This position requires a profound understanding of spatial audio, foley, voice-over production, and dynamic audio systems within game engines. You will lead a small team of talented sound artists, guiding them from concept to final implementation, ensuring the highest quality and artistic integrity. Responsibilities include:
Conceptualizing and designing all audio elements for VR projects, including sound effects, ambiance, UI sounds, and music integration. Developing and implementing complex spatial audio systems using middleware like Wwise or FMOD. Directing voice actors and managing voice-over recording sessions. Crafting realistic and evocative foley and environmental sounds. Collaborating closely with game designers, programmers, and artists to ensure audio enhances gameplay and narrative. Troubleshooting and optimizing audio performance within the game engine. Mentoring and providing artistic direction to junior sound designers. Researching and integrating new audio technologies and techniques for VR. Maintaining high standards for audio quality and consistency across all projects. Contributing to the overall creative vision of the projects. Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sound Designer, with at least 3-5 years focused on interactive media or gaming. Demonstrable portfolio showcasing exceptional sound design for VR or immersive experiences. Expertise in industry-standard DAWs (Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase) and audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD). Solid understanding of 3D audio principles and implementation. Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity audio systems. Strong creative vision and artistic sensibility. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. A passion for virtual reality and interactive storytelling is essential.
