Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA) invites applications for its next Music Director, an exceptional conductor, inspiring educator, and collaborative artistic leader who will help shape the future of the organization at a pivotal moment in its 50-year history.
Serving more than 600 young musicians annually across South Texas, YOSA is recognized for artistic excellence, educational innovation, access, and student development. Its musicians perform at the acclaimed Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, participate in international tours, and benefit from signature initiatives including the nationally recognized Rising Star Fellows program.
YOSA is now entering an extraordinary new chapter. In 2024, the organization acquired a 52,000-square-foot campus that will become its first permanent home and a vibrant center for youth music education, artistic excellence, and community engagement. With more than $10.3 million raised, the next Music Director will have a rare opportunity to help define YOSA’s artistic identity, educational vision, culture, and future growth.
YOSA seeks a leader with exceptional musicianship and the heart of a teacher—someone who can inspire outstanding performance, develop young people as musicians and leaders, build meaningful relationships across communities, and serve as a compelling ambassador for YOSA and music education.
