Position Summary:

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a
full-time, academic-year, tenure-track Assistant Professor position
in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or Artificial Intelligence to
start in August 2027. The successful candidate will establish a
strong, independent, externally funded research program and
maintain a record of high-quality scholarly publications.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses, mentoring M.S. and Ph.D. students, contributing to
curriculum and program development, and participating in
departmental, college, and university service. Candidates should
demonstrate strong research potential, effective teaching and
communication skills, and a commitment to graduate education and
student success. Interdisciplinary research, external
collaboration, and engagement with industry and government partners
are encouraged.

Minimum Education/Degree Required:

Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.

Required Qualifications:

• Earned Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial
Intelligence, or a closely related field by the position start
date.

• Evidence of research in Computer Science, Cybersecurity,
Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field, demonstrated
through peer-reviewed publications or accepted scholarly work.

• Evidence of teaching experience, such as serving as an
instructor, teaching assistant, guest lecturer, or other documented
instructional role in a relevant field.

• Evidence of written and oral communication experience with
academic, technical, or professional audiences.

• Evidence of collaborative experience in research, teaching, or
other academic or professional activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications in
Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a
related field.

• Demonstrated potential to establish an independent, externally
funded research program.

• Experience pursuing, participating in, or contributing to
externally funded research.

• Experience or demonstrated potential to mentor and advise M.S.
and Ph.D. students and engage undergraduate students in
research.

• Evidence of effective university-level teaching or demonstrated
potential for excellence in teaching.

• Experience developing or contributing to undergraduate or
graduate courses and curricula.

• Experience or interest in interdisciplinary and collaborative
research.

• Experience supporting student academic growth, professional
development, and achievement.

• Experience or demonstrated potential to use innovative,
hands-on, project-based, or experiential instructional
methods.

• Ability to secure a U.S. security clearance
