As a Senior Sound Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the auditory landscape of our projects. You will conceive, create, and implement immersive sound experiences that elevate player engagement and storytelling. Your responsibilities will span the entire audio pipeline, from initial sound concept development and asset creation to integration and final mixing, ensuring a cohesive and impactful sonic identity for each production.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, record, edit, and mix high-quality sound effects, ambient sounds, and musical elements for interactive media. Collaborate closely with game designers, narrative teams, and other creatives to define and achieve the desired sonic vision. Implement audio assets into game engines or other development platforms using industry-standard tools. Develop and maintain audio style guides and technical specifications for projects. Oversee and guide the work of junior sound designers and external audio contractors. Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related technical issues during development and post-launch. Stay current with advancements in audio technology, middleware, and sound design techniques. Manage audio asset libraries and ensure efficient workflow processes. Contribute innovative ideas for sound design and audio implementation to enhance the overall player experience. Participate in playtesting and provide feedback on audio implementation and quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in sound design for games or interactive media is required. Demonstrable expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live is essential. Experience with audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD is highly desirable. Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio mixing techniques is critical. Excellent creative vision, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are paramount. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and thrive in a fully remote, collaborative team environment is crucial. A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality sound design work is required.
