Our client, a leading innovator in interactive entertainment, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Sound Designer to join our dynamic audio team. This pivotal role will be based in our state-of-the-art studio located in **Raleigh, North Carolina, US**. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting immersive auditory experiences and a proven track record of delivering high-quality soundscapes for video games. You will be instrumental in defining the sonic identity of our projects, from initial concept to final implementation.
Responsibilities: Design, implement, and mix all audio elements, including sound effects, ambient soundscapes, Foley, and voice-overs, ensuring a cohesive and impactful audio experience. Collaborate closely with game designers, narrative designers, and other audio team members to interpret and fulfill the audio requirements of each project. Record, edit, and process audio assets to meet technical and artistic specifications. Develop and maintain audio systems within the game engine, ensuring efficient and robust audio playback. Mentor junior sound designers and provide constructive feedback to foster artistic growth within the team. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in audio technology, game engines, and sound design techniques. Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues during development and post-launch. Contribute to the overall artistic vision of the game’s audio by proactively suggesting creative ideas and solutions. Manage audio assets, ensuring proper organization and version control. Participate in playtesting sessions to evaluate audio implementation and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Sound Design, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in game audio sound design, with at least one shipped AAA title. Proficiency in industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase. Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity and their respective audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD). Strong understanding of audio principles, acoustics, mixing, and mastering. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate creative ideas clearly. A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality sound design work for games is required. A passion for video games and a deep understanding of different game genres.
