Our client, a renowned studio in the heart of Richmond, Virginia, US , is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Sound Designer to join their award-winning creative team. You will play a pivotal role in crafting immersive and unforgettable audio experiences for our cutting-edge projects. This role requires a deep understanding of audio principles, exceptional creativity, and the technical expertise to bring soundscapes to life. You will collaborate closely with game designers, narrative teams, and audio directors to conceptualize and implement all aspects of sound, from Foley and dialogue editing to music integration and dynamic audio systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient environments, and musical scores for interactive experiences. Record, edit, and mix dialogue to ensure clarity and emotional impact. Develop and implement dynamic audio systems that respond to gameplay events and player actions. Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate audio into the game engine and middleware. Create and maintain detailed audio documentation and asset libraries. Provide creative direction and feedback to junior sound designers and external sound vendors. Ensure all audio assets meet technical specifications and quality standards. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in sound design for interactive media. Contribute innovative ideas to the overall audio direction of projects. Manage audio tasks and deliverables within project timelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sound Designer in the games or interactive media industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of projects. Expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Logic Pro. Proficiency with audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD. Strong understanding of acoustics, signal processing, and audio mixing techniques. Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their audio systems. Excellent creative vision, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling through sound. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor junior team members. Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
